Whooo-hoo! I got a shipment from The Wood Man! Remember him from the You Tube video last winter?

How exciting to have such a stack of boxframes! I think they are pretty and they smell so good. I did not know where I was going to keep them all…but then I figured out I could put them right under my table in the middle of the room. You might notice the paint buckets jacking up my table…I do that to save my back from breaking. This way I can stand up and work and not have to do that half-bend thing.

What!?

Just had to share…

Mended Heart

June 24, 2008

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds Psalm 147: 3

acrylic painting on 45″ X 18.5″ cupboard door

I did this painting after taking a few days off. Prior to painting it, I was having some severe stuggles with anger and frustration. I had a vengeful heart and my Father told me to not pick up the paintbrush until I had a better attitude. I prayed alot and grumbled even more and eventually my hard heart softened and I got over it…at least enough to be able to paint again. When I was working on this painting I felt Spirit filled and totally inspired. I reflected on how the Lord has healed my  heart…not just over the last week…but over the last several years. He really does bind up the brokenhearted and I believe that even when life is at it’s worst, I will not be ever be completely crushed again. When Jesus saves, he SAVES!

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;

perplexed, but not in despair;

persecuted, but not abandoned;

struck down, but not destroyed.

When I set up this wordpress blog I was hoping to do a few sales from here but soon found out it was against their terms of service. So, I have put together a simple website where I will be offering paintings, prints, and dolls at set prices directly from ME! You can click on the angel below to go see…

I used a template website so it is limited in what I can change around…but, I beleive it will serve it’s purpose fine for now. Please let me know if you see any big mistakes…I am about blind after all this computer stuff and could easily overlook something big…like putting the milk away…IN THE CUPBOARD!

Also, more big news…I changed my ebay user id to grittyjane! I figured it was time to match everything up and the opening of my little web-shop seemed a good time to do it. I have become quite attached to the name hooptyhooha and it was almost painful to change! Scary, huh? My family membes even call me Hoopty!

Change…change…change.

America The Beautiful

June 17, 2008

I tried super hard to do a Fourth of July Painting and get it listed in time this year…Here it is: America The Beautiful

It was done on a big sheet of wood mounted into an antique window frame measuring 33″ X 30″.

While I made it, I think I listened to every Ray Charles video on You Tube there is! Especially this one…Don’t be afraid to sing along!

This Week’s Favorites

The paintings are on wood with collaged scripture. The frames were handmade using recylced porch wood by a cowboy named Bob…

Hootin The Blues

June 10, 2008

Today I have been painting close to my laptop and watching-listening to You Tube videos…I am so greatful to those who post the old blues guys…they are my favorite to paint to…and I want to share them all…but I won’t.

If you are moving in slow motion today, here’s a video that might wake you up:

Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee - Hootin’ the Blues

Here’s one more…Elizabeth Cotton…she’s just so nice to listen to

Flowerhead Doll

June 6, 2008

Here’s the full picture of my “Art In Bloom” PWGL Group Challenge Project

I have really been enjoying doll-making and am grateful to get bids so I can keep on doing it…

You might be able to tell that I didn’t turn one of the petals right-side-out (the one at the top)…but I just figured it was like the Amish when they do their quilting…I’ve heard that they always put one block out of place to show that only God is perfect…

Enjoy this video of our trip to the Spokane Art Fest yesterday.

Little Peek

May 31, 2008

Here’s a little peek at my Art In Bloom project I worked on yesterday…She will be listed Sunday night.

I am getting excited to see what everyone comes up with. There are so many talented artists in the PWGL group on ebay. Speaking of ebay, does anyone notice that sales are a bit slow right now?
